DaVinci Resolve keyboard shortcuts.
Edit faster in DaVinci Resolve — playback, editing, the timeline, switching pages, the Color page and project keys. Mac and Windows.
The J-K-L of editing
Editing in DaVinci Resolve has its own rhythm, and it starts with J, K and L — rewind, pause and play — which let you shuttle through footage at speed using only your left hand. Add I and O to mark in and out points, and Shift+I / Shift+O to jump back to them, and you can carve exactly the piece of a clip you want without ever reaching for the mouse. These habits are the foundation everything else builds on.
Pages, edits and the Color node tree
Resolve is really seven apps in one, and Shift+2 through Shift+8 hop between the Media, Cut, Edit, Fusion, Color, Fairlight and Deliver pages instantly. On the timeline, ⌘B / Ctrl+B splits a clip at the playhead, Shift+Del ripple-deletes to close the gap, and F9 / F10 insert or overwrite from the source viewer. On the Color page, ⌥S / Alt+S adds a serial node and ⌥G / Alt+G grabs a still for comparison. Pair with the Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro shortcuts for the wider editing set.
