Privacy Policy
Last updated: this version reflects how the site currently operates. This policy explains what information is and isn't collected when you use Shortcut.fyi, which is owned and operated by Silver Directive LLC (“we”, “us”).
The short version
Shortcut.fyi is designed to collect as little as possible. The tools on this site — the text transformers, converters, generators and everything else — run entirely in your browser. Anything you type or paste into a tool is processed on your own device and is never uploaded, stored or transmitted to us. We don't have user accounts, and we don't ask you to sign in or hand over personal details to use anything here.
Information handled automatically
Like virtually every website, the hosting provider that serves these pages may automatically log standard technical information when you visit — such as your browser type, device type, approximate region and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site running, understand broad traffic patterns and diagnose problems. It isn't used to identify you personally.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser. This site uses them in a limited way, and they fall into a few categories: essential cookies needed for the site to function and remember basic preferences (such as light or dark mode, which is stored locally on your device); analytics, if used, to count visits in aggregate; and advertising cookies, described below, if and when advertising is enabled. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, though essential preferences may then not be remembered between visits.

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and understand which cheatsheets and tools are useful, in aggregate. Where analytics are used, the aim is to measure overall usage patterns rather than to track individuals.
Your privacy choices and rights
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the use of advertising cookies to serve personalised ads can be considered "sharing" under California law. We also aim to honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal where it applies.
EEA and UK residents. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (including consent to advertising cookies). Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
