Spell Checker

Spell checker & typo fixer

Catch spelling mistakes as you type, and fix common typos in one click. Nothing is uploaded — it uses your browser's own dictionary.

How the spell checker works

The text box has live spell-checking turned on, so your browser underlines misspelled words using its full built-in dictionary as you type. Right-click any underlined word for correction suggestions — these come from the same engine your operating system uses across every app, so they're as accurate as your system's own spell check.

On top of that, the Fix common typos button instantly corrects a curated list of the most frequent English misspellings — teh → the, recieve → receive, definately → definitely and dozens more — without touching anything else. Because it only changes known misspellings, it won't introduce false corrections.

Private by design

The big advantage of a browser-based checker is privacy: because everything runs locally, the text you paste is never uploaded the way it would be with many online proofreading tools. That makes it a safe place to check a sensitive email or an unpublished draft. One thing to keep in mind — a spell checker flags words that aren't in the dictionary, so it catches typos well but won't catch a correctly-spelled wrong word ("their" for "there") or grammar issues. For length, the word counter pairs nicely; for case and formatting, the text transformer does the rest.

FAQ

How do I get spelling suggestions?
Right-click (or control-click) any word your browser underlines in red to see correction suggestions from your browser's dictionary.
What does 'Fix common typos' change?
It replaces a curated list of frequent misspellings (like teh, recieve, definately) with the correct spelling, preserving capitalization. It leaves all other words untouched.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Spell-checking uses your browser's local dictionary and the typo fixer runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
