The slash command is everything
Notion's defining shortcut is /. Type it anywhere and a menu of every block type appears — heading, to-do, table, toggle, callout, code — so you build a page by describing what you want rather than hunting through toolbars. Paired with ⌘/Ctrl + P, the quick search that jumps to any page in your workspace, these two keys handle most of how you move and create in Notion.
Working with blocks
Everything in Notion is a block, and the block shortcuts are what make editing fast. ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + ↑/↓ moves the current block up or down, the standard ⌘/Ctrl + B/I/U handle formatting, and Tab / Shift + Tab indent and outdent to nest list items and toggles. Selecting a block with Esc and then acting on it — duplicate, delete, turn into another type — keeps your hands off the mouse.
Little touches that add up
A few extras make Notion feel smooth: ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + N opens a new window for working in two pages at once, ⌘/Ctrl + \ toggles the sidebar for a cleaner view, and typing [[ links to another page inline while @ mentions a person or date.
