Jira keyboard shortcuts.
Move through Jira faster — search, create, assign and triage issues without the mouse.
Triage without touching the mouse
Jira's keyboard shortcuts turn issue management from a click-heavy chore into something you can fly through. The big wins are single-key actions: / jumps to search, c creates an issue, i assigns the current issue to you, and j / k move down and up a list of issues. Working a board or backlog, these let you read, assign and move issues in a steady rhythm rather than hunting for buttons each time.
Editing in place
Inside an issue, more single keys speed up the common edits: pressing a field's shortcut to assign, change status or add a comment keeps your hands on the keyboard while you update tickets. The dot menu (.) is the Jira power-user's secret — it opens a command palette of actions for the current issue, so you can do almost anything by typing its name instead of remembering where it lives in the interface.
Let Jira teach you
You don't need to memorise the full set. Press ? anywhere in Jira to pull up its complete, context-aware shortcut reference, then add a few keys at a time to your routine. Note that Jira's shortcuts can vary slightly between the classic and newer issue views and across Cloud versions, so the in-app list is the source of truth. If your team also uses other trackers, compare with the Linear and Trello cheatsheets.
