Logic Pro keyboard shortcuts.
Record, edit and mix faster in Logic Pro. macOS-only, from transport keys to the Mixer, Piano Roll and bounce.
Transport and recording
The core of working in Logic is the transport: Space plays and stops, R arms and records, Return jumps back to the beginning, and C toggles Cycle mode for looping a section. , and . rewind and forward. New tracks come from ⌘ + ⌥ + N, with ⌘ + ⌥ + A for a new audio track and ⌘ + ⌥ + S for a software instrument track. Keep M and S under your fingers to mute and solo as arrangements grow.
Editing and windows
Logic's edit commands are quick: ⌘ + T splits regions at the playhead and ⌘ + J joins them back together, while ⌘ + R repeats a region and L toggles looping. Nudge a region with ⌥ + ← or ⌥ + →, and press Z to zoom to fit. The window keys open everything you need — X Mixer, P Piano Roll, Y Library, B Smart Controls — and when the mix is done, ⌘ + B bounces and ⌘ + S saves. Editing on video instead? See Final Cut Pro.
