How to convert text to uppercase

Paste your text and tap UPPERCASE to turn every letter into a capital. It's handy for headers, acronyms, code constants, spreadsheet labels, or anywhere a short run of text needs to stand out.

When to use all caps — and when not to

Uppercase works in small doses: a short heading, a label, a constant name like MAX_RETRIES, or a single word for emphasis. Used at length it works against you. Blocks of all-caps text are measurably slower to read, because we partly recognize words by their shape and capitals flatten every word into the same rectangle. It also reads as shouting in messages and email, and some screen readers spell longer all-caps strings out letter by letter, which hurts accessibility. So reach for uppercase to make something brief pop, not to set a paragraph.
